Making your own Rubber flexible roads/tracks

Using PVA glue,join a few sheets of magazine paper together and pin to a board.

I brought this Mastic from the pound shop,you'll need three to give you about 15ft of track cut to lengths of 12 inches by 3/4 inches.

start by applying the mastic with even gaps across the paper,The next stage (no photo) is to keep applying until the very small gaps between the mastic.

using a ceramic tile spreader evenly smooth the mastic. Finish by gentle smoothing with a dry paint brush to flatten out any high points.

Black wash and dry brush

cut to size.

shows how thin you can make them,which lets you lay them up and over hills .

As ever Perry figures are outstanding,still flash issues. Doing 50 in one go did improve speed,total of 3 hrs a night,5 nights,15 hrs total.

Well after 9 long weeks of painting my Nine Years War corps is done. As part of a larger project with my wargame club: http://www.facebook.com/pages/New-Buckenham-Historical-Wargamers/302874659765417 i am painting Germans in the service of France.

I used http://www.leagueofaugsburg.com/shop/products-cat-16.html figures,very nicely sculpted with good animation and if you are into this period i recommend them highly. A these few issues i did have with the figures to keep in mind.
     When buying a battalion pack make sure you check them as the mix of musketeer/pike/command and grenadiers seem to be random, Random to the point of wondering if their packing dept is a monkey in boxing gloves! which as we at the club are using warfare miniatures  Beneath the Lilly Banner  rule set,you would think that they would know what figures you needed to make up a battalion?
    Pikemen,some of these posed with only a single cupped hand to balance the long pike on isn't good enough to stand up to wargaming,even in the gentlest hands.

     Cavalry, the troopers need to be drilled and pinned or araldited as the underside of the troopers is a "V" shape and the saddle the sit on is rounded.

All this said they are really good figures which i have enjoyed painting.
